An exploration of Colour Theory through a blue lens

The goal with this project was to become comfortable with colour. I chose five topics of colour theory to study, each with their own material, in order to keep my hands busy when my mind was tired. My topics of choice were: History of blue with ceramics, Contrast of blue with wood, Application of blue with Metal, Value of blue with Stone, and the Creation of blue with pigment.

It’s important to note that I’m not trying to show you what is right and wrong, or how or where to use color. But rather show you how you can use colour from the beginning of a project, and not just at the end, can actually shape the entire process. The final outcome was a publication showcasing my samples and the stories I gathered along the way.
